Community Resources
Peer Recovery Specialists play a vital role in connecting clients with recovery communities and fostering partnerships with organizations that provide essential support. Through their efforts, our clients access a wide range of resources to build sustainable recovery, improve life skills, and reduce the risk of relapse or recidivism.
We collaborate with organizations offering job training, stable housing, and social support to provide wraparound services that empower clients to thrive. These partnerships include:
Skill Development and Job Preparation
We work with the Aquidneck Island Adult Learning Center (AIALC) to provide adult education, vocational training, and job readiness programs. Services include literacy instruction, GED preparation, and vocational assessments, equipping clients with tools for long-term employment.
Peer Recovery Specialists also guide clients on their vocational journeys, offering resources for job applications, interview preparation, and workplace skill development. By building connections and fostering resilience, they empower individuals to achieve meaningful and lasting recovery.
Social Connections
Turning Around Ministries (TAM) offers housing assistance, job training, and essential services through its Day Center—a safe space for peer support and socialization, helping clients rebuild stability and relationships.
Inclusive Social Support
Newport Pride creates a welcoming environment for the LGBTQ+ community, providing opportunities for self-expression, connection, and inclusive peer support.
Additional collaborations with Newport Mental Health, the Women’s Resource Center, and the Rhode Island Department of Labor ensure clients have access to comprehensive mental health resources, employment services, and educational support. Partnerships with Rhode Island’s drug and criminal courts, Department of Corrections, Probation/Parole Administration, and the Department of Child, Youth, and Families enhance access to resources tailored to justice-involved individuals.
